When it comes to paying for college, there are several options that may be available to you, including grants, federal aid, and GMercyU scholarships. In order for the Gwynedd Mercy University Financial Aid Office to prepare and process your comprehensive financial aid award, you will need to complete and submit various forms and documents.

All forms and documents can be submitted to our Financial Aid Office via scan/email, fax or mail.

2023-2024 Applicant Forms

FAFSA – All students seeking federal financial aid need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA, using your 2021 tax information, will be available beginning October 1, 2022 at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Your completed FAFSA should be submitted by December 1st for priority consideration for select scholarships. Otherwise, the priority deadline for new students is February 15, 2023 (extended from January 15, 2023). To complete the FAFSA, go to studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Our school code is #003270. In addition to completing the FAFSA, you may need to complete one of the Gwynedd Mercy University financial aid applications listed below.

2023-2024 FAFSA Waiver (PDF) - Please complete this form if you are not going to file the FAFSA for the 2023-2024 academic year. This form will enable GMercyU to waive your FAFSA and process your merit-based financial aid.

If you are selected for verification under any of the scenarios below, please fill out and submit the appropriate worksheet to GMercyU as quickly as possible. We cannot complete your financial aid package without this documentation.

2023-2024 Dependent Verification Worksheet (PDF) - If you are a dependent student, your FAFSA may be randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process to confirm the information you and your parents reported. If you are selected for verification, please fill out and submit this worksheet to GMercyU.

2023-2024 Independent Verification Worksheet (PDF) - If you are an independent student, your FAFSA may be randomly selected to undergo the federal verification process to confirm the information you reported. If you are selected for verification, please fill out and submit this worksheet to GMercyU as quickly as possible.

2023-2024 Statement of Educational Purpose (PDF) - If requested by GMercyU's Financial Aid Office, this form must be completed in the presence of a Notary if the student cannot come to campus to complete the form. This form will be specifically requested and may not be faxed or emailed.

2023-2024 Parent Non-Tax Filing Form (PDF) - If you are a dependent student whose parents did not file a 2021 Tax Return and in conjunction with the IRS Verification of Non-filing Letter, please fill out and submit this form to GMercyU.

2023-2024 Student's Non-Tax Filing Form (PDF) - If you an independent student who did not file a 2021 Tax Return and in conjunction with the IRS Verification of Non-filing Letter, please fill out and submit this form to GMercyU.

2023-2024 Parent's Income Verification Form (PDF) - If you are a parent of a dependent student, GMercyU's Financial Aid Office may request this form to verify your 2021 income and expenses in order to accurately assess your eligibility for financial assistance. This form will be specifically requested.

2023-2024 Student's Income Verification Form (PDF) - If you are a dependent or independent student, GMercyU's Financial Aid Office may request this form to verify your 2021 income and expenses in order to accurately assess your eligibility for financial assistance. This form will be specifically requested.

2023-2024 Total & Permanent Disability Discharge Statement (PDF) - If you have applied for total and permanent disability discharge or are in the process of applying for a total and permanent disability discharge, GMercyU’s Financial Aid Office will need this document and a supporting statement from a physician regarding your ability to engage in substantial gainful activity. This form will be specifically requested.

2023-2024 Asset Verification Form (PDF) - This form will be specifically requested by GMercyU’s Financial Aid Office if it is needed to determine your financial aid eligibility.

2023-2024 Verification of Independent Status (PDF) - This form will be specifically requested by GMercyU’s Financial Aid Office if it is needed to determine your financial aid eligibility.

IRS Tax Return Transcript Instructions (PDF) - This form is required for student, parent or spouse if a tax return was filed and the student was selected for a process called verification.

IRS Verification of Non-Filing Instructions (PDF) - This form is required for independent students or parents of dependent students if they did not file a tax return and the student was selected for a process called verification.

2023-2024 Independent Reduced Income Form (PDF) - Gwynedd Mercy University provides special consideration for independent applicants experiencing a reduction in income due to an extenuating circumstance. Students MUST attach a separate explanation detailing all the reasons your family’s 2021 income will be reduced and complete the remainder of this form. Additional supporting documentation may be requested by the Financial Aid Office.

Master Promissory Note & Entrance Counseling Instructions (PDF) - The Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling (EC) are requirements for all students who wish to borrow Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans over the course of their education.

Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Request (PDF) - Please submit the appeal within two weeks of your SAP notification email.
